Spider Pest Control for Dallas Homes
Our spider pest control starts with an inspection of the house, inside and out, and you hear the price before anything is sprayed. After the visit, the findings come to you in writing: what was found, which products were used and where.
Two things happen on the visit. Webs and egg sacs come down from the eaves, entries and corners, and the places spiders hide are treated, from the foundation outside to the attic and the garage.
We handle brown recluses, black widows and wolf spiders, along with the common house spiders that web the corners of a room.
We carry the liability insurance the state requires.
How We Get Rid of Spiders, Step by Step
-
1
Call us
Tell the person who answers what you are seeing and where: webs along the eaves, egg sacs in the garage, a spider in a closet. If you think it is a brown recluse or a black widow, say so.
-
2
Inspect inside and out
Inside, the technician checks corners, closets, the garage, the attic and any crawl space; outside, the eaves, meter boxes, weep holes, woodpiles, sheds and decks. The search is for webs, egg sacs, and the clutter and gaps that let spiders settle in.
-
3
Go over the findings and the price
You hear which spiders were found, where they are living and how they get inside. Then you hear the price and what it covers. Nothing is sprayed until you say yes.
-
4
Sweep the webs, then treat
Webs and egg sacs are swept away first. Then the spray goes on outside and the dust goes in where a spray cannot reach. Sticky cards go along the walls and in closets to catch what is still moving.
-
5
Put the findings in writing
The written findings list what was found, which products went where and where the sticky cards are. Before leaving, the technician also points out what draws spiders in, such as boxes stacked on the garage floor or a woodpile by the back door.

De-Webbing and a Crack-and-Crevice Treatment
DFW Pest Guard does spider control in two parts: de-webbing first, then a crack-and-crevice treatment in the places spiders hide.
De-webbing is the spider removal you can see. The technician sweeps the webs and egg sacs off the eaves, the entries and the corners. Every egg sac that comes down is a batch of spiders that never hatches.
Crack-and-crevice means the product goes into the gaps where spiders hide and travel, not across open floors.
Outside, the spider treatment around the house is a residual spray, one that keeps working after it dries. It goes on the foundation, the eaves and the entry points, such as door frames and the gaps around utility lines.
Indoor spider control relies on insecticidal dust. It goes into wall voids, the attic and any crawl space, where spiders shelter and a spray cannot reach.
The sticky cards then show what is still being caught. Spiders follow their prey, so cutting down the other insects around the house is part of the job too.
Brown Recluses, Black Widows and Wolf Spiders in DFW
Most houses in Dallas–Fort Worth stand on a concrete slab, with no crawl space under them. The dark, quiet places spiders want are the attic, the garage and the closets, plus the crawl space under an older pier-and-beam home.
Brown recluses hide in dry, undisturbed spots: stored boxes, closet corners, the attic. A box carried in from the garage can bring one into the house.
Black widows web low in sheltered places outside and in the garage: the meter box, a woodpile, a shed, the underside of a deck.
Wolf spiders build no web to catch prey. They hunt on the ground and come in through the gap under a door.
All three follow their prey, so a long warm season keeps them fed.
Signs of Spiders in Your Home
Look for these:
- Webs that come back in the same corners, along the eaves or around a porch light a few days after you sweep them.
- Egg sacs: small, round silk balls in a web, a closet corner or behind stored boxes.
- Tangled, messy webs low in the garage, under patio furniture or inside the meter box, the kind black widows spin.
- Spiders in the bathtub or a sink, or stuck on a sticky trap.
- Shed spider skins in stored boxes or on closet shelves.
Leave the webs and egg sacs where they are until the visit, because they show the technician where spiders are living. Do not pick up a spider you think is a brown recluse or a black widow. Call (972) 573-9907 any time, day or night, to book the inspection.
Keeping Spiders Out After the Visit
The spray outside wears off with time, faster on wood than on vinyl. What keeps spiders out after that is fewer places to hide and fewer ways in:
- Keep stored boxes taped shut, and clear the clutter from closets and the garage.
- Seal the gaps around doors and where utility lines enter the house.
- Stack firewood away from the walls.
- Leave the sticky cards in place and look at them now and then.
If the cards start catching spiders again, or new webs fill the eaves, call for another visit.

Questions About Spider Treatment
How much does it cost?
You hear the price after the inspection, before any work starts. The cost of a spider exterminator depends on the size of the house, how far the webs and egg sacs have spread, and whether the attic or a crawl space needs dust. None of that can be judged over the phone.
How long does a spider treatment last?
It depends on the surface. The residual spray lasts about a week on wood and up to 60 days on some vinyl. That is why the sealed gaps and the cleared clutter matter once it wears off.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
The dust goes into wall voids, the attic and crawl spaces, where nobody touches it. Keep children and pets away from the sprayed spots outside and at the entry points until they dry; the technician tells you when. If anyone at home has a health condition, mention it when you book.
Can I get rid of spiders myself?
You can sweep webs and spray the spiders you see. A store spray does not reach wall voids, the attic or a crawl space, though, and it leaves the egg sacs behind. Professional spider extermination covers those places, and that is most of what you pay for.
What if it rains after the visit?
Once the spray outside has dried, ordinary rain does not wash it off. A downpour before it dries can, so heavy rain in the forecast may move the outdoor part of the visit to another day. The dust inside the walls and the attic stays dry either way.
What should I do before the exterminator comes?
Clear the clutter from closets, corners and the garage, and tape stored boxes shut. Leave the webs up, since they show the technician where to look.
You see the webs. The inspection finds where the spiders live.
One phone call books it, day or night, and you hear what spider pest control will cost for your house before anything is sprayed.
