Pest Control for Roaches in Dallas Homes
Our pest control for roaches starts with an inspection, and you hear the price before any bait goes down.
We treat German, American and Oriental roaches with gel bait and a growth regulator, placed in the cracks where they hide. A follow-up visit about two weeks later checks how much bait they ate.
After each visit, the findings come to you in writing.
We carry the liability insurance the state requires.
How We Get Rid of Roaches, Step by Step
-
1
Call us
Describe what you have seen: roaches under the bathroom sink, say, or roach droppings in a kitchen drawer. The technician also needs to know about any sprays or bug bombs you have already tried.
-
2
Find where they hide
With a flashlight, the technician checks the kitchen, the bathrooms and the laundry area: under the sinks, behind the fridge and the stove, along the cabinet hinges. Sticky monitor cards may go down in a few spots to show which roach it is and where most of them are.
-
3
Hear the plan and the price
You learn which roach it is, where they gather and what the visit will cost. Nothing is applied until you say yes.
-
4
Bait the cracks
Gel bait goes into the cracks and crevices, and a growth regulator onto the hiding spots nearby. A roach treatment visit usually takes one to two hours, and you can stay home while it is done.
-
5
Put it in writing
The written findings name the species, show where the roaches were and list which products went where.
-
6
Check the bait
About two weeks later, the technician comes back to see how much bait was eaten and adds more wherever roaches are still feeding.

Gel Bait and Crack-and-Crevice Treatment
DFW Pest Guard does cockroach control with gel bait, placed in pea-sized dots in the cracks and crevices where roaches hide. That means the hinges of cabinet doors, the gap behind the stove and the space where pipes come through the wall under the sink.
Roaches spend the day in those cracks and feed at night, so the bait sits where they already are. What they carry back into the crack reaches roaches that never come out into the kitchen.
An insect growth regulator goes on the hiding spots next to the bait. Young roaches exposed to it cannot grow into breeding adults, so the eggs that hatch after the visit do not start the infestation over.
We use no bug bombs, and no repellent spray goes near the bait. Roaches that meet a repellent stop eating it.
German, American and Oriental Roaches in DFW
The three roaches we treat get into Dallas–Fort Worth homes in different ways, which is why the inspection names the species first.
German roaches are the small, light-brown ones in kitchens and bathrooms. They usually arrive inside something: a cardboard box, a grocery bag, a used appliance. Then they breed indoors all year. In an apartment or townhome, they also travel between units along shared walls and plumbing.
American roaches, the big reddish-brown ones called palmetto bugs, live outdoors and in sewer lines. Oriental roaches, dark and often called water bugs, favor cool, damp spots. Both come in from outside: through drains, under doors and around pipes.
Most DFW houses sit on a concrete slab, where those drains and pipes are the openings to watch. Under an older pier-and-beam house, the crawl space gives Oriental roaches a damp place to live right below the floor.
Signs of Roaches in Your Home
Look for these, mostly in the kitchen and the bathrooms:
- A roach in the open in daylight, or several scattering when the kitchen light comes on at night.
- Roach droppings like ground pepper in drawers, on shelves and along cabinet hinges.
- Small brown egg cases behind the fridge or in the back corners of cabinets.
- Shed skins near cracks, under the sink or behind the stove.
- A musty, oily smell inside a closed cabinet.
Found any of these? Call (972) 573-9907 to book the inspection. Until the visit, leave the droppings and egg cases where they are, because they show the technician where the bait should go.
Keeping Roaches Out After the Visit
Leave the dots of bait where they are, and keep store sprays out of the kitchen. The bait works only while roaches keep eating it.
Roaches with no crumbs and no water eat more of it. Keep food sealed, wipe the counters at night and fix the drip under the sink. Cardboard boxes go out with the recycling, since roaches hide and lay eggs in them.
The technician may also point out gaps around pipes worth sealing. If roaches still show up after the follow-up visit, call and say so.

Questions About Roach Treatment
How much does it cost?
You hear the price after the inspection, before any work starts. What cockroach control costs depends on the species, how many rooms have roaches and whether they have spread into the walls. None of that shows over the phone.
How long until they are gone?
The bait usually thins them out within a few days. Seeing none at all takes longer, and the follow-up visit about two weeks later re-baits wherever roaches are still eating. Each visit takes one to two hours.
Is the bait safe around kids and pets?
It goes where children and pets do not come across it: small dots inside cracks, hinges and gaps, not on counters, floors or dishes. When you call, mention a health condition at home or a dog that noses into low cabinets, and the technician places the bait with that in mind.
Can I get rid of them myself?
For a roach or two, store gel bait in the nearby cracks may be enough. Once German roaches breed in the cabinets, store sprays and bug bombs make things worse: they drive roaches deeper into the walls, and the ones that survive avoid bait afterward. That is the point to call a roach exterminator.
What if it rains after the visit?
Rain does not reach the bait, which goes indoors, into cracks and inside cabinets. If the inspection finds roaches coming in from the yard and outdoor work is part of the plan, a downpour in the forecast can move that part to another day.
How do I get the kitchen ready?
Put food in sealed containers, fix any drip under the sinks and throw out empty cardboard boxes. Then make sure the technician can get to the cabinets under the sinks and the gap behind the fridge.
The roach on the counter is one. The rest are in the cracks.
One call, any time of day or night, books the inspection that finds them. You hear what roach control will cost before the technician starts.
