About DFW Pest Guard
A Texas-licensed, insured pest control company for Dallas–Fort Worth homes.
DFW Pest Guard treats homes, not businesses: houses, townhomes and apartments people live in, across Dallas, Collin, Tarrant and Denton counties. We treat termites, roaches, ants, spiders, house crickets, earwigs, silverfish, clothes moths, centipedes and millipedes, and we remove mice, rats, bats, squirrels, raccoons, opossums, skunks, birds, snakes and moles.
The license is a Texas structural pest control business license; the insurance is the liability coverage the state requires of a licensed business. What the pest inspection finds, and what was applied and where, comes to you in writing after the visit.
The same order at every house
Before anything is applied
- A person answers the call and asks what you have seen, where and since when.
- The technician goes through the rooms, the attic, the garage and the yard.
- The technician shows you what turned up and names the pest.
- You hear what we recommend and what it costs, then you decide.
Once you say yes
- Treatment goes where the pest lives and travels, not across open floors.
- You hear how long to keep kids and pets off anything treated.
- The findings come in writing: what was found, what was used and where.
- We point out the gaps, drips and mulch that let pests in, so you can fix them.
What the technician checks
- The slab edge and pipe openings. Most DFW houses sit on a slab. Termites reach the wood in mud tubes over its edge, through a crack or beside a pipe.
- Weep holes. The gaps in the bottom row of brick lead into the wall, and crawling insects use them to get inside.
- The attic. Droppings, chewed wiring or nesting material up there point to mice, rats, squirrels or raccoons.
- Under the sinks and behind the appliances. Roaches shelter in the warm, damp gaps there, which is where bait does its work.
- Windowsills and light fixtures. Shed wings there, especially after a warm spring rain, are often the first sign of a termite swarm.
- The beds and the yard. Mulch heaped against the foundation, standing water, and edging made of old railroad ties, which can carry Formosan termites in.
Promises we do not make
- A price before anyone has seen the house. The pest, how far it has spread and the size of the house decide it.
- That spraying the mud tubes ends a termite problem. The colony lives in the soil, and the treatment has to reach it there.
- That any product is harmless. Each one goes only where its label allows.
- An arrival time on a web page. The real time comes on the phone, from that day’s schedule.
Safety, getting the house ready and how the price works are covered on the FAQ page. Every county and city we cover is listed on service areas.
